Learning, Leading, and Loving Literacy

One of my favorite things to do is to read aloud to my son and my students. Sharing my favorite books with them is joyful, creates a bond between us, and allows me to share my love and enthusiasm for reading. And now a study proves what we have instinctively known all along…reading aloud to kids makes them better readers.

“Scholastic has just published a groundbreaking new report showing that one of the top predictors of students becoming strong, voracious readers is the frequency with which they have been read aloud to.” http://www.huffingtonpost.com/pam-allyn/read-aloud-to-ignite-a-wo_b_6793110.html
